Carolyn (Galligan) Kirchdorfer, Class of 1960, passed away on Nov. 12, 2022. She was the mother of Teresa (Kirchdorfer) Gardone '85; sister of Michael J. "Mike" Galligan '56 (dec'd.), Nancy (Galligan) Voelker '58, Thomas R. "Tom" Galligan '64, Mary Sue (Galligan) Ellenbrand '66 (Kenneth '65), and Dottie (Galligan) Zipp '69 (Donald [Hon. '12]); and aunt of Joseph Voelker '88, Timothy Voelker '91, Mary Ellen Voelker '93, Annette Galligan '87, Charles W. Galligan '88, William Galligan '92, Jennifer Galligan '95, Julia (Ellenbrand) Bott '98 (Kevin '95), Denise (Galligan) Allgeier '00, DJ Zipp '99, Diana (Zipp) Gaddis '02, and Damian Zipp '05.
Carolyn served on the Board of Trustees of Providence High School from 2014-2020, during which time she played a key role in the design and construction of the campus chapel, which was dedicated to her husband’s memory. More recently, the Kirchdorfer Foundation made a major gift to the first phase of the athletic weight facility, which is under construction on the front field. Providence acknowledged her dedication to serving others with the Community Service Award at the 2022 Gala in September. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Providence High School for the Carolyn Galligan Kirchdorfer Scholarship Fund.
